Well, It's almost first!

Payton: Dad, what place did I take?
Jory: You took second place bud.
Payton: Well, that's almost first!
Jory: It sure is Bud!

Payton is so dang cute. He was the cutest little cowboy this weekend, that's for sure. He got to enter a little roping for the kids at Jory's roping. He ended up taking 2nd place in the 7-10 year old group!! He did so awesome and was the youngest one. He didn't miss the steer once! He seems to always have a rope in his hand these days.

He won a new orange rope. It is quite the eye catcher if you know what I mean... I showed him the picture I took of him holding both ropes and he said, "Thats the rope I won, and that's the rope that I won it with". He really says some of the cutest things. He really has some adult humor sometimes and it just cracks me up. I love this little boy so much! Good job Cowboy PJ!!!!!!

Go Broncos!

We are indeed the Broncos this year in flag football. Payton sure wanted to be the Colts, but he was afterall named after Peyton Manning... My family is a huge Broncos fan family. We have been going to games since I was a little girl. My dad is originally from Colorado and had season tickets to the games. Anyways, my whole point is that yes, we are the good ol' Broncs and here are some pictures of our cute little team. Payton isn't exactly the fastest kid on the block, but is for sure the cutest little guy on the field. He is so small standing next to most of the kids. He is a fantastic kicker... my camera flashed late, so I missed the kick off but you can see him in formation! We lost our first game, but have won all the others so far. I really don't keep track but our coaches (Jory and Bear) sure let us all know!

Papa Tom

My dad is the best man I have ever known. He is also the best Papa. I caught him out swinging with PJ and Ava (who was by the way, Tinkerbell that day). Ava said, "Push me Papa! Higher!" She is a bossy little thing. Payton wanted "underdogs!". They were keeping him busy, but he doesn't mind... He truly is the best and always goes out of his way and gives his time to everyone. He always thinks of everyone else and is so giving. I really admire him in so many ways.

My dad has had Parkinsons disease for about 10 years and nothing seems to slow him down. I love him so much and he has been the best example to all of us. I really hope a cure is right around the corner for him. Keep praying!! I love you Dad!

More of Cowboy Payton and Ike the horse

Payton has been riding almost every night in the arena with his Daddy. Yesterday he went with him to a roping in Oakley and then they went roping in Gusher on their way home... Payton came home with $15. He made the money by bringing up the steers on Ike. He is doing so good riding. He sure is the cutest cowboy I have ever seen on a horse!

School is going good. I think it has been good for us to get on a routine again...? I've already been infested. I have had a head cold all weekend. Yesterday I stayed and slept on the couch while the boys went roping.

PJ is playing flag football two nights a week and our womens bowling league has started up again. Jory is training horses and cleaning stalls. Today he is working the arena. We are busy, busy, busy. I really wouldn't rather it any other way. I hope the weather stays nice for a while longer... I'm not ready for fall/winter to come yet...

Hope everyone is doing well and happy! Have a great week!

First Day of School!

It is that time again... school time!! My baby is starting second grade! I can't believe he is already that big. My alter ego has returned... Mrs. Green. We are both going through some departure issues. With PJ in my class last year we were able to spend everyday together all day long. So far I have heard "MOM!" shouted across the lunch room with a wave and at recess I even got a big hug. He wouldn't do that last year so that seems to be one benefit of him missing me. One day last week he walked in my classroom and then went "oh, wrong room" and turned around laughing to his new room, which by the way is next door to my class.

I really do love my job but sometimes it is so hard for me juggling being a mom and being a teacher. On the first day I wanted to walk PJ to class and kids were already showing up to my class... it was hard but I managed and PJ is a trooper and he understands. On Thursday and Friday I had a mandatory training at school at 7:00am and poor PJ has to get drug around at the crack of dawn. Raydean is a great friend and she helps me out in those situations. I guess this is the down side of being the "young" teacher. Nobody else really has kids as young as mine. I'm just so lucky to have such a studly boy for a son.

I "think" I have another good class. It is weird because every year so far I have had lots of my friends kids in my class and this year I only already knew a couple of the kids. It seems to be another good group, but what do I know it's only been a week! The first month of first grade is so long, for them and me! They are tired, hungry, sick, sad, missing mommy, etc, etc, etc.... seriously. I just tell them "me too honey let's get through it together". Well, wish us luck this new school year!
