Busy Ballers!

It's that time of year again! We only have 20 days of school to go! I say "only" because I have to make sure these little punks know everything they need to by the time they leave me! It's cram time! It is so crazy at work and home! We begin year end testing this week. We will be testing off and on for about two weeks. The kid-os are anxious for summer to get here! Believe me when I say, teachers are just as excited! I love having summer off. It's going to be my first summer off, not having a huge project going on.

Ball has begun! It is going to keep us busy, busy, busy! Payton is playing pitching machine this year. This is the first year they actually play real baseball. They call outs, keep score, and get real uniforms! He is so cute in his uniform by the way. He looks like such a big kid out there on the field. I gave him the pep talk on Saturday about how "it doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you do your best." Jory was like, "good one coming from you Meg!" Ha. Ha. Jory is the coach again. This year we are the Cubs. They had their first game on Saturday. We won with a 4-1. Little P scored two of the four! He has games 2-3 times a week! Jory is about to die that so many are on Saturdays. He might not get to rope to often for awhile!

My softball is starting up again. We start games tonight. My goal this year is to relax and not be so hardcore. I'm not getting behind speeding balls anymore! For those of you who forgot... This is the outcome of doing that:

Day after ER

Day #2 (hence the peace sign)

Day #3

That is what happened to me almost a year ago. I had taken half of the next day off to go on the field trip with PJ's class. I think I freaked all the kids out. "Hi Kids. I'm your teacher next year!" Yea, yea, laugh it up! I know you are.

Bowling Champs!

Yes it is true, we are indeed the "women's 3 on 3" bowling champs! Yea for us!
How we got the idea of bowling on a league is beyond me. It is the first year for us. Kimberly, Shari, and I decided it would be a fun thing to do. We have been bowling on Wednesday nights since about October. It has lasted forever, but we love it so. It is our girls night out. We have a drink, visit, and bowl. We weren't very good at the beginning and that has really helped our team because we have a really high handicap. We have gotten pretty good I must say. Wednesday nights is also coed bowling night. My friend Emily bowls on that league. I was reading her blog and it was so funny. She mentioned how serious most league bowlers are and it is so true! There is so much we have learned about bowling and the bowling lingo!

First of all, we started the season using "house balls." We now all own our very own balls. Yes, our names are ingraved. We also have our own shoes and bags.

We got ourselves a coach. Coach Rance! (He is one of those serious bowlers.) He gave us practice lessons and helped us know the right moves to make.

Last Wednesday was a big night! We were tied for first place! We were so nervous! Everyone knows that I am crazy competitive, but we ALL were ready to kick some butt! We were so serious, not a lot of chit chat at all. Well, we won! (By the way, in league you play three games.) We ended up having to play six games that night (two different teams). We were so tired, but we did so good! I bowled my highest game of 176! I couldn't believe it! Kimberly still holds the highest game of a 181. (I wasn't present that night though, I'm still not sure I believe it!) Just kidding Kimmy!

Well, we are offically the winners. We go tonight for fun night, and to get the honors. We won $$$. I'll let you know how much later because I'm not sure. We would like to thank our coach, our sponsers, and all of our fans! Love ya!

Bobby Brown

Bobby Brown is P.J.'s pony. He is a pretty good little pony. He is much better than our last one, Sugar. (He got bucked off Sugar when he first started riding.) When we go riding, Bobby Brown does really good. He is a bit slow because of those short legs. When he feels fresh he can make us a bit nervous. Last week he went to bucking a little when P.J. was riding him. Last night Jory told Payton that he thinks we should sell ol' Bobby Brown and buy him a bigger, older horse. Payton went to worrying all night about it. He was crying and making up excuses for Bobby and why he was bucking that night. He really is just like a big puppy dog. Right now he is growing dreds in his hair. Jory says they fit the name. Tonight PJ is going roping with Dad, we'll see if he lightens up to the idea of a new horse. Here are some cute pictures of Payt with his big dog, Bobby Brown. :)

looks can be deceiving

This is really dumb but kinda funny. So, last summer we had this lovely new microwave installed onto our wall.

Before this, I still had the cheap one Kimberly bought me when I moved away after High School. By the way, it still worked! So this one has began freaking out. When you punch in the time, it goes really fast and it doesn't heat. Problem for a microwave, right? Well, Jory and I thought, "No big deal, we can go without a microwave for awhile." Well, Duh! Have you ever realized how much you depend on the old microwave? Seriously, we are starving!

We called the repair man, and he is supposedly ordering the part. It has been a month! So I told Jory that I would bring the one in from my classroom. It is another cheap one that I stole from Brock. Well, I guess I wasn't fast enough because this is what I came home to:

Seriously, this thing weighs as much as me. Well, maybe not that much but at least 100 for sure! It is huge and DISGUSTING! It is the one out of the work trailer. It travels with them job site to job site. Who knows what has been in there! By the way, I opened it and blue prints were cooking! Jory hauled it in the back of the truck and hay is all over it. Actually there was a trail from the truck to where he delievered it.

Anyways, this is my conversation with redneck Jory:
me- "Uh, What the heck is this? I don't even think so."
J- "What do you mean, we need a microwave don't we?"
me- "Not that bad, this thing is sickning!"
J- "Clean it!"
me- "I'm not touching that, get it out of here so WE can fit in the house! I will bring the one from school tommorrow!"

Jory thought that it was so funny that I was so disgusted. He laughed it up. Needless to say, I brought the one from school home. When I got there he had not yet disposed of the sick one. Dad came over and we told him the story. That got him and J going on what a good microwave it has been for them. It must be good, it still works. It looks like the first micro. ever invented! It took both of them to put it in the back of Jory's truck. Sick.

You can't tell how sick it really is in the photos. I'm not too good, believe me!

forgiveness

So I just got home from church Bible study and it seems like each week the message is meant for me. No matter what you believe, I'm sure you would agree with my thoughts today...

The Bible says that "God is love" and to "love your neighbors" right? Well, today we looked at 1Cor. 13

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protets, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails."

I have heard this verse a million times in my lifetime. Today it is just what I needed. So I hope everyone reading this will assess yourself today with how you are doing on loving and forgiving. I really thank my parents for showing me this kind of agape love. My sisters and I have talked about this before and how growing up we can't think of a single time our parents argued or acted angry with one another. I now know that they too had hard times, but they never showed it in front of us kids. I thank you both for that. I know that sometimes I show more patience for other peoples children in my classroom than I do for my own child. I have many things to work on in this verse with loving like Christ does.

The part that really spoke to me today is the part that says, "Love keeps no record of wrongs." There have been a few things,(actually one instance) that I have not been able to forgive and to be honest, I haven't really wanted to. I've had an "I'll show you kind of attitude," which is being exactly the same as the people I need to forgive are. Today I realize that some people that I love the very most were not shown the same example that I was with how to love another, how to show love, or quite frankly just how to treat others the way you should. I really feel my parents have done such a good job of teaching this and leading this example to us. They taught us not to be so quick to judge people, you do not know what they have been through. They also taught us not to speak when angry because most likely you will say something you regret later and if it's not any of your business, then stay out of it! Today I am forgiving AND forgetting people who need only prayer from me and perhaps to take a look at this verse for themselves. (Mom, aren't you proud of the "and" in there?) I know that I am not perfect, I never claim to be. In fact, I do many things wrong. Many of you will be very proud of me. You know how this very instance has affected me. I'm moving on.

So sorry to go on forever, I hope this has made you think of working on something for yourselves. Many people need to be shown by example the way to be more Christ like. Thank you to all of my great examples of love by family and friends! Have a fabulous week!
